Well, I didn’t adhere to my June 2020 TBR picks. And that’s totally fine! I’m actually happy with the books that I read this month.
I’m a person of colour, but I’m not Black. And I needed a wake up call as to how I was doing as an ally. And the short answer is that I wasn’t doing enough. The fact of the matter is most of us aren’t.
But I hope that you’re keeping engaged with what’s going on in the world. If you have the means, please donate your money. If you’re in good health, please donate your time at protests. If you have the time, please educate yourself by reading literature by Black authors. Put in the work.
Now here’s what I read in June: a collection of books written by fantastic Black authors and authors of colour.
